This happened with a girl I knew in high school as well. Cheerleader tryouts were held in front of the entire student body, with paper ballots to vote for the top 16 candidates. My friend was talented and could definitely do all of the routines, tumbles, and flips. The commentary, however, centered on the fact that her breasts were larger than the other candidates and she would have a tough time being fitted for the uniform if she was one of the top 16. While fitting into the uniform is important, they could have figured out a way. It struck me as petty and unfair.
