Spoilers lie within the pages of the book of Quinn

It’s taken a while to get here, but we’re finally getting some answers as Season 2 winds down. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve enjoyed the ride, but some of the scenery could have been trimmed. Let’s talk about it.

Chekhov’s Bends

As you know, I wasn’t happy with how the previous episode hand-waved the bends after Juliette’s rapid ascent following her dive to get the sump pump started. She popped up like a cork from a depth of over 350 feet. There should be consequences, and we finally got to see some. Jules realized what was happening and took another hand-wavy dive to fix herself. I will excuse this with plot armor since we must keep Juliette alive as our main character. As I mentioned last week, an amateur diver shouldn’t exceed 150 feet, and we’re to believe Juliette dove more than twice as deep and ascended without any decompression stops. She should be dead. (I was a certified SCUBA diver but haven’t donned the gear in ages.)

Billings Doubts
