“Silo” Spoilers & Speculation

As we near the end of the second season of the AppleTV+ dystopian sci-fi series Silo, I decided I would post my questions and speculations about where the show might be headed. Potential spoilers ahead.

I will start by noting the series has been renewed for 2 seasons and is set to end with Season 4. With this news, I’m fairly confident the full story will be told as it relates to the core characters, and we won’t be left hanging with unresolved plot points. I’m also going to say I will try to restrict my questions and speculations to the TV show alone. I read all three books following the end of Season 1, so I’m fully aware of how the books handle the story. The show has introduced some elements that weren’t included in the books.

Solo

Who is the person we know as Solo, and why is he in Silo 17? At this point in the story, we know the person who calls himself Solo is not the original Solo of this silo. A few things don’t add up about this Solo and lead me to believe he’s not the original IT shadow. The first major clue was that he did not know the vault code. If he had been living alone in Silo 17 for all these years, I would think the vault code would be muscle memory by now. I think this Solo is someone else who was living in Silo 17 on another level, someone who did not leave when everyone else did. To give him the benefit of the doubt, I…
