Severance: “An apology is warranted” s02e02
Let Keir guide your hand
The second episode of the second season of Severance flips the story from last week. We go from the innie experience to the outie experience.
Spoilers follow.
The story opens with Mark Scout at his brother-in-law’s book reading, having just been there as his innie (Mark S) for the past 39 minutes. He’s agitated, irritable, and more than a bit disoriented, but not sure why as he holds the framed wedding photo of his late(?) wife in his hand. His sister, Devon, asks if he knows who she is, and he replies, “Persephone.” (Persephone is the Greek goddess of the underworld.) Was he referring to his niece or possibly to his wife, Gemma? He stated in a later scene that he was certain Gemma was dead because he identified her body. Does this mean no one else saw her body? Was she cremated? At this point, all we know is the car left the road and went into a lake, where she presumably drowned. Was Mark driving at the time (since we know he’s an alcoholic) and lost control of the vehicle, or was she alone? Did he, or anyone else in the family, attend her funeral? I have so…
