I’ve always been a fan of LG phones

LG V60 ThinQ 5G (from LG-US)

My first Android phone was the Samsung Galaxy Nexus in 2011. Every phone I’ve owned since then has been an LG flagship phone. My venerable LG G6 started showing its age a few months ago and wasn’t behaving well even after a factory reset, so it was time to move on. I’d been holding out for the release of the LG G9 but it appears that release has been put on the back burner so much that it’s been taken off the stove. My latest phone is the LG V60 ThinQ 5G.

The LG V-series phones have generally been known for their camera and audio capabilities. They’re the twin to the G-series if you think of the V-series as being the more outgoing twin, the twin who wants to be the life of the party. The LG V60 ThinQ 5G comes with Android 10 and screen gestures as standard issue instead of the 3 onscreen buttons we’ve all gotten used to over the years. Navigating the screen with gestures instead of buttons takes a few days to get used to but now I wouldn’t go back to buttons at all. The gestures seem natural and easy to me. When I handle a different Android phone and have to use buttons I can’t help but scrunch up my face and think I’ve taken a step backward.

The V60 ThinQ 5G screen is large at 6.8" and that makes it a little difficult to use with one hand. This is not the phone for folks with small hands or short…
