I listen to about 30 hours of podcasts each week at varying speeds. With some podcasts I max out at 1.5X because the subject matter is dense or the hosts speak in heavily-accented English. With other podcasts I max out at 2.6X because the subject matter is less weighty and the hosts speak in less-accented English. If a podcast relies heavily on music, I listen at a slower speed than if it’s all talk. I find it agonizing to listen to a podcast at normal speed now. I find that I’m able to listen and comprehend at faster speeds with headphones or earbuds than I can through speakers.
