S02E07 of Silo answers some of our questions and poses others.

Spoilers Lie in the Deep

With Episode 7 of Season 2, we finally got some payoff for what has been building. Some of the scenes we saw in the trailer and stills for the season are finally shown in the story. Let’s start at the top before we go for a dive. This will not be a full recap, but I want to highlight a few points.

The episode opens with the newly-sworn IT shadow, Lukas Kyle, being escorted into the vault to see the Legacy mentioned at the end of the previous episode. We had already gotten a glimpse of the inside of the vault in promotional stills and the trailer for the season, but now we see more of it. We see that it’s a vast library of books and other relics of the beforetimes. We also learn that what we see in this room is only the tip of the iceberg compared to the resources available digitally via a tablet Bernard hands to Lukas. As I guessed in my previous article, the Legacy is an artificial intelligence, and I think we’ll see more of it before the season ends. With that established, the biggest (and most shocking) piece of information we learn at this point is that the silo was built 352 years ago.

Doing the math, this means the most recent rebellion was 140 years ago, or 212 years after the silo was built. There was at least one previous rebellion, but we don’t know where it fits in the timeline. If we assume the silos were built in our era, this would set the timeline for the events…
