Back when I used to travel frequently this sort of thing happened to both me and my coworkers. I’m convinced hotel housekeeping has switched to silent entry mode. I’m old enough to remember when they used to knock loudly before attempting to enter. Now you might get a quiet knock with a key card and the next thing you know the door is opening.
